How to get the Snow Area in Elden Ring

Elden Ring’s map is an expansive and dangerous place, with each zone offering its own loot drops and enemies to encounter. If you’re looking for the best ways to get past some of the touch bosses in Elden Ring, be sure to check out our boss guides. However, if you’ve made it through most of the game and are looking to adventure into a new zone, this guide will tell you how to get to the Snow Area in Elden Ring.

How To Get To The Snowy Area Elden Ring

To get to the snowy area in Elden Ring, all you have to do is collect the Rold Medallion and head to the Great Lift of Rold. To collect the Rold Medallion, you’ll have to first defeat Morgott, The Omen King, who is a demi-god boss found in Leyndell, Royal Capital.

That’s the main way to get to the snowy area, which you will get simply by playing through the game as intended. However, there is another way to get to the snowy area, which unlocks a secret area where you can fight Malenia, Blade of Miquella.

To unlock this secret area, you need the Haligtree Secret Medallion. This medallion is split into two parts, and both must be collected. Then, simply return to the Lift of Rold with the medallion and you’ll unlock the secret area.

The first half of the medallion can be found in the Village of the Albinaurics. As you arrive at the Village of the Albinaurics Site of Grace, go straight from the site of grace area and up the hill on the right side. Keep going uphill until the end to find a fairly large container on the right side.

Attach the pot twice and an NPC will come out of this container. You can listen to him tell his story, or you can just kill him to obtain the first half of the medallion.

For the second half of the Medallion, you need to head to Castle Sol. Straight ahead from Castle Sol is a section called Stargazer’s Ruins. Travel to the Castle Sol Main Gate Site of Lost Grace using the northern bridge, but prepare to face some enemies on the way.

Activate the Site of Lost Grace near the phantom-spawning knight and continue by heading straight from there. Look for the doorway in the back. It will lead you to a flight of stairs, and eventually you will come across a building on the right. Go inside and ride the lift. As soon as you reach the top, get out of the building, take the stairs outside, and find the purple-colored item. You have now obtained the second half of the Medallion.
